Endeavour is pleased to participate in the 2023 national reforestation caravan, initiated by YeS Foundation, in Côte d'Ivoire.

As part of this national reforestation caravan, the Endeavour Foundation has also signed a partnership agreement with the YeS Foundation and the Société de Développements des Forêts (SODEFOR) to reforest 30 hectares of the classified forest of Krozialé, located near our Ity mine in Côte d'Ivoire.

The launch of this partnership coincided with Earth Day, which is an internationally celebrated day to raise awareness about environmental protection and for global organisations, such as Endeavour and its partners, to join together and take action to protect our planet through reforestation initiatives.

Highlights:

  • Improve the rate of reforestation
  • Promote green jobs and sustainable livelihoods
  • 30 hectares will be reforested, at a cost of 20 million FCFA
  • Stakeholder mobilisation, programme management and monitoring and evaluation

Djaria Traoré, EVP ESG and Supply Chain, commented "Trees are fundamental to our civilisation. Planting trees is about protecting our lives and the air we breathe.

We know Côte d'Ivoire has been suffering from deforestation and we are pleased to support the Government's efforts to address this and to partner with Yes Foundation, who are championing biodiversity and reforestation."

Through this project, Endeavour is participating in the protection and enhancement of biological diversity, while contributing to the preservation of the ecosystem of our host communities.

The YeS Foundation, which is in charge of leading the reforestation activities, will benefit from the technical support of SODEFOR throughout the duration of this partnership, which covers the period from May 2023 to December 2025.
