At Endeavour, we see the tremendous value in opening up new perspectives and cultivating diverse leadership.
This diversity is a great strength for our Group, and is reflected in our values of pioneering, performance, proactivity, and partnership.
On International Women’s Day, we have introduced “Women at Endeavour”, a new programme designed with and for our female colleagues, to improve their health and well-being, particularly at sites, and to accelerate the development of women's careers within Endeavour.
The programme was built based on the results and recommendations of an internal survey of more than 500 female employees in June 2023, and is structured around two pillars: Care and Empower.
The first pillar, Care, aims to better address the realities faced by women in mining, particularly at sites, by offering concrete initiatives to improve their health and well-being at work. Initiatives include a comprehensive review of our maternity policy to support female employees throughout their pregnancy and motherhood journey, and raising awareness of public health issues among our employees, combating psychological harassment and gender stereotypes.
Our Empower pillar aims at unlocking women’s full potential by means of making available specific and tailored mentoring, training, and leadership programmes at all levels of the organisation.
With this two-tiered approach, Endeavour strives to build on its previous initiatives to give women in mining all the tools and opportunities they need and the careers they want.
Endeavour committed to gender equality
Since 2022, women’s participation in the company has increased significantly at all levels, including:
- At the Board level, which is composed of 44.4% women
- At senior management level, nearly 30% of team supervisors hired in 2023 were women.
- At Group level, Endeavour has set a target of hiring 15% women in 2023, which has been exceeded with 22% women hired last year. The number of women in the company increased from 9% in 2022 to 11% in 2023.
- Approximately 13,000 hours of training were provided to female Endeavour employees in 2023, almost double the number of hours provided in 2022.
