The Endeavour Foundation And U.N. Women Côte D’Ivoire Partner To Empower 300 Women At Our Ity Mine

The Endeavour Foundation and U.N. Women Côte d’Ivoire have partnered to support the economic empowerment of women in the area around the Ity mine. This one-year partnership aims to bring positive change to the lives of over 300 women, predominantly working in agriculture, as they embark on a journey towards self-reliance and modernisation.

Thanks to a 76 million CFAF funding from the Endeavour Foundation, these women, primarily farmers, will receive economic support to modernise their activities, enhance their agricultural skills, and receive tailored training in entrepreneurship.

According to Djaria Traoré, EVP ESG & Supply Chain at Endeavour Mining: "Women in the communities around our Ity mine contribute to 80% of the food production for their families. However, they face significant challenges in accessing land. This partnership will enable them to better structure and monetise their agricultural activities”.

Antonia Ngabala Sodonon, U.N. Women Côte d’Ivoire representative, stated: "Through this partnership, U.N. Women Côte d'Ivoire aims to enhance women's self-reliance, productivity, and competitiveness to support the 2030 U.N. Sustainable Development Goals”.

This initiative is aligned with Endeavour Mining’s Sustainable Development strategy and addresses the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly the fight against poverty (SDG 1) hunger (SDG 2), and fight for gender equality (SDG 5).
